HISTORIC REHABILITATION
Special care and expertise must be applied to the rehabilitation of historic structures when encountering antiquated and potentially hazardous building materials and bringing the structure up to current building standards without compromising its integrity. LaRosa has successfully completed projects where either the building was listed on State and/or National Historic Registers, or the project was within a historic district.

Teacher's Village
Hartford, CT
This building changed use to residential from business commercial. Teacher’s Village was funded by the City of Hartford and the Connecticut Department of Housing (DOH). Improvements and rehabilitation of the existing 80,000 gross square feet, six story concrete, steel and masonry structure comprised of 60 units of housing above [Studios, 1-Bedroom and 2-Bedroom apartments]. Tenant business space on the first floor was simply an interior fit-out. Exterior work included window replacement and re-cladding the bays, and roof replacement. All new electrical, plumbing and HVAC systems were provided throughout. The existing elevators were also modernized.
